Our approach

The tree is precious. So is the work.

A poorly pruned tree takes ten years to recover. A poorly secured intervention can cost a roof or a life. At Ultra Tree, every job site is planned like a project: species identified, structure assessed, access mapped, anchor points validated before a single rope touches the bark.

Our philosophy: caution is not a cost — it's the foundation. That's why our climbers are SIAQ-certified, our equipment is checked before every intervention, and every job site is documented (before, during, after).

What sets us apart: we handle permits for you, we leave the property cleaner than we found it, and we never leave a job site without joint inspection. You know exactly what you're paying for, and why.

Frequently asked questions

What we get asked most.

Are you insured and certified?
Yes. Liability insurance of 2 M$. CNESST compliance. SIAQ-certified climbers. Certificates available on request before any job site.
Do you handle municipal permits?
Yes, it's included in the tree removal package. Application filed with the city, file follow-up, waiting for approval handled. You have nothing to do.
When is the best time to prune?
Most hardwoods: dormancy (November to March). Maples and birches: summer to limit sap loss. We advise according to species and objective.
What do you do with the debris?
Everything is collected. Usable wood in logs made available on request. Branches chipped on-site and removed. The property leaves clean.
Do you do stump grinding after tree removal?
Yes, as an option. On the same visit or deferred according to your constraints. Grinding to a minimum of -15 cm below ground, soil leveled to allow seeding or planting.
What about emergencies in the evening or on weekends?
Direct 24/7 line in season. Rapid mobilization for fallen tree, threatening branch, storm damage. Immediate securing, final treatment planned.
How much does tree pruning cost in Brossard, Longueuil or Boucherville?
On the South Shore of Montreal, an Ultra Tree standard pruning starts at $875 for a medium tree (up to 10-12 m). Tree removal + stump grinding from $1,650. Emergency: +50% on standard rate. Firm free quote after on-site visit and risk assessment.
Is a municipal permit required to remove a tree in Longueuil, Brossard or Boucherville?
Yes in most South Shore cities (Longueuil, Brossard, Boucherville, Saint-Lambert, etc.), for any tree with a trunk diameter exceeding 10 to 15 cm depending on the municipality. Ultra Tree handles the permit application for you: submission, follow-up, waiting for approval. Included in the tree removal package.
What's the difference between pruning and emondage?
In Quebec, the two terms are often used interchangeably. Technically: pruning is the periodic cutting of live branches for health, safety or aesthetics. Emondage rather refers to the removal of dead or diseased branches. In practice, a good arborist does both on the same visit.
How long does tree removal with stump grinding take?
A medium tree (10-15 m, clear access): removal in 2-4 h, stump grinding 1-2 additional hours. With sectional dismantling (constrained environment: roof, electrical wires), count 6-10 h. Job-site planning, securing and final cleanup are part of total time.
When should a tree be inspected by an arborist?
After a major storm, when fungus appears on bark or roots, in case of visible trunk cracks, dry top branches, new leaning, or every 3-5 years preventively on mature trees. Ultra Tree's arboricultural inspection includes a written report with prioritized recommendations.
